  14. TV Agent is a computerized TV guide covering 130+ satellite-delivered
  15. channels. It REMEMBERS what programs you want marked, and what
  16. channels and programs you have no interest in. The listings TV Agent
  17. displays contain many more episode details than you'll find in most
  18. printed guides, including updates for changes made just 48 hours
  19. before air time.

  21. ---- Customization:
  22. Each copy of TV Agent allows 99 users to record their individual
  23. preferences. Each member of the family can see listings displayed with
  24. her favorite programs hilited, and with many uninteresting listings
  25. deleted. There is no need to wade thru many listings for channels you
  26. don't subscribe to; those can be deleted for all the users in a
  27. household at once. Individual users can delete additional channels,
  28. and can also delete listings by program type (like "DAYTIME SOAP" or
  29. "CARTOON") or by program title (like "Sesame Street" or "Laverne and
  30. Shirley".) Each user can hilite channels, types, and titles too, so
  31. they will stand out on the screen whenever they appear in the
  32. listings, no matter where or when. Listings can be hilited or deleted
  33. based on keywords or phrases appearing anywhere in the detailed
  34. descriptions.

  36. Special display and printing modes let you display ONLY the hilited
  37. listings. You can get a schedule of your regular favorites without
  38. even looking at the listings, after TV Agent has watched you hilite
  39. for a week. You can get special purpose schedules, like all the
  40. "TEAM VS TEAM" program types, or all the programs that will be on
  41. "The Learning Channel" during the next week. Users can customize the
  42. listings so they show the channel numbers appropriate to the local
  43. cable system instead of the satellite location. That feature also
  44. allows use of nonstandard abbreviations for satellites to match
  45. satellite receivers that can't display the standard abbreviation.

  47. ---- Timeliness:
  48. You may not find any other source of listings as up to date as what is
  49. on your BBS because of the printing and mailing delays of most weekly
  50. guides. The daily update of tomorrow's listings means that a schedule
  51. change made by a network yesterday can be on your BBS this afternoon.
  52. TV Agent listings may be the only place to find listings for news
  53. specials that were planned only a couple of days earlier, or details
  54. of sports playoffs, news magazine programs, morning talk shows, etc.

  56. ---- Details:
  57. Many more listings include episode details than you will find in
  58. printed guides. The details can be displayed automatically in a full
  59. screen mode, but usually they are not shown unless you ask for them.
  60. Old series like "Star Trek" are typically identified by episode title
  61. and a brief description. Movies usually include a description, the
  62. actors, director, country and year of production, MPAA rating, and
  63. other characteristics. Details that are not settled until shortly
  64. before air time (like the topics of morning talk shows and the teams
  65. in playoffs) are more likely to be included in TV Agent listings than
  66. in printed guides.

  72. This is the list used mid-July 1996. The list changes as new channels
  73. become available and old ones disappear or move to a new location. You
  74. can customize TV Agent displays and printout so they use a different
  75. ID (like your local cable system channel number) instead of the
  76. satellite and channel number shown here.
